trending: boucherouite rugs

whether or not you can spell them (so many vowels…), these moroccan rugs are popping up in more and more interiors i’ve recently seen. they are brightly colored and made up of scraps of cloth. super-soft, i think they’re just the thing for a boring hallway, area rug for a kids room or playroom, or as an accent rug in an otherwise quiet living room.

they are a great (and very colorful!) way to add texture, which is one of my favorite things. i love to incorporate something soft, supple, and comfortable underfoot. it’s like slipping your foot into the perfect fur-lined slipper! one important thing to remember is BALANCE: add some sleek, modern accents and an older antique or vintage furniture piece in the same space as this eye-catching piece. otherwise, you’ll have an overload of color and you’ll grow tired of it in a few months!
